About the event
I Clivi is a small, family-owned estate in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, one of Italy’s great white-wine regions and arguably the country’s most exciting place for distinctive, age-worthy whites.
Founded in the 1990s by Ferdinando Zanusso and now run by his son Mario, I Clivi farms roughly 12 hectares in the Collio and Colli Orientali del Friuli, close to the Slovenian border. Many of the estate’s vines are 60–80 years old, rooted in Friuli’s classic ponca soils of marl and sandstone. Production is small, farming is organic, and the focus is on native varieties and a restrained cellar style that highlights freshness, minerality and vineyard character.
