About the event
Rado Kocjančič farms in one of the most fascinating corners of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, just a few miles from Slovenia and overlooking the Adriatic. His family has lived in the same house for more than 400 years, through generations of shifting borders and changing governments.
The name itself reflects that history: Kocjančič is the Slovenian family name and Rado his first name, a reminder that this part of northeastern Italy has always been as culturally Slovenian as it is Italian.
Today, Kocjančič works a tiny estate focused on native grapes including Vitovska, Malvasia Istriana and Refosco, farming organically and making wines with a minimal-intervention approach. The vineyards sit between the Carso, Istria and the Adriatic, where the powerful Bora winds and maritime influence help create wines known for freshness, salinity and a strong sense of place.
Join us for an intimate tasting of four of his wines with the importer, including Malvasia…
